Additional battery warranty cautionary note under load shedding conditions:
12 months from date of purchase. Note, our batteries are not rated for cyclic use.
With the recent unprecedented power challenges in South Africa, it is important to understand the warranty and life expectancy of your battery. The warranty covers manufacturing and material defects only; it does not guarantee that your batteries will last 12 months or more without a reduction in capacity/runtime.
With load shedding frequencies from two to four times daily, these daily load shedding conditions represent a cyclic application, meaning a greater demand on the battery combined with shorter recharge times. The net result is a possible premature capacity loss of your battery.
Deep discharges when semi sealed flooded / VRLA lead acid batteries under Eskom load shedding are exposed to 4 hours or more daily, to very deep discharges as well as infrequent and quite often “partial state of charge” conditions where batteries are frequently not charged fully or worse, never recharged fully, this can lead to premature capacity/runtime loss and/or premature failure of the battery.
The warranty does not cover loss of capacity due to over cycling and/or undercharging.
